At Spruce we  continuously strive to improve on the experience of buying, giving and receiving fresh flowers.

While rooted in exceptional design and good old-fashioned service, we are driven by innovating and improving the experience of sending flowers. From creating a website that makes it easy to order from our collection online, to providing custom arrangements with our "Creative Director" option, we want to make sure the process of ordering flowers with Spruce is above and beyond the industry standard.  We employ technology to communicate with our customers at every step of the order process, from sending a photo of the "Creative Director" bouquet you've trusted us to make for you, to sending the lucky recipient a heads-up text when we're on our way with their delivery and confirming the delivery with the sender by email upon completion.

Flowers today are sourced from all over the globe, where possible we support our Minnesota growers that produce cut flowers year round and in summer we support numerous independent local flower farms.


DESIGN

Our simple and organic approach to design relies on allowing the flowers to do what they do best: make us feel good while bringing beauty into our lives.

We are (super!) passionate about flowers and live to share our love of flowers with others through each and every arrangement our design team carefully assembles.

Whether we are creating a custom arrangement or collaborating over flowers for your special event, or helping you select the right plant for home, we love to witness the joy and wonder that flowers and plants bring to our lives. 


OUR EVOLUTION

Spruce Flowers Creative Director Simon May In the Spruce Design Studio Spruce was originally founded by Amy Backman and opened its doors for the first time back in the Spring of 2010 in the 48th and Chicago neighborhood in Minneapolis - three years later our second location, The Spruce Flower Bar, was opened in 50th & France in Edina. As retail trends changed Spruce evolved too and in 2017 Spruce reduced its physical retail footprint and relocated into a studio location in North East Minneapolis. The resulting transition into an online design studio positioned us perfectly when Covid19 turned retail on it head!

In 2020, Simon took over the creative direction at Spruce. Simon's background in horticulture and interior landscape design has helped Spruce evolve and grow resulting in the need for additional cooler capacity, so we moved again into our present beautiful studio space in the Fisk Building. Centrally located between Highway 280 and 35W, we are perfectly positioned to deliver to the entire Minneapolis and St Paul metro area with ease.

Looking forward, Spruce continues to evolve, bringing fresh flowers and plants to our customers across the Twin Cities metro, providing refreshing designs and superior quality products with flair and always with the customer in mind.
